Вот какое мыло я получил сегодня по поводу этих фотографий:


I saw your two naval photos. The man in the uniform is a Petty Officer (i think the Signals Officer) in the Royal Navy. He is a Sikh (Indian) as you can see from the cloth under his hat. The two soldiers (or marines) -who are native British - seem to be trying on the man's dress turban, for amusement. See that the younger of them has removed his own hat, to try it on.

The background looks like a Scottish Island but with the defences on the hill it could be Guernsey.

The arm badge shows the Prince of Wales plume, not the crown. I think that means it is 1937 - i.e. Edward of Mrs Simpson fame who never became King ...

I am sure more could be discovered. If only you had a sharper scan ...
